Piumi, Chandimal and the team underwent a PCR test a few days ago and reports returning today show that all have tested negative for COVID-19. They will be released tomorrow.
Incident coordinator Chandimal Jayasinghe, model Piumi Hansamali and 21 others have been placed under quarantine at a government center in Badulla and will lodge a complaint with the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) against the injustice done to them by the court.
Piumi, Chandimal and the rest of the members were taken to a quarantine center two weeks ago after attending a birthday party at the Shangri-La Hotel during an island-wide travel ban.
Both Piumi and Chandimal were arrested for violating the quarantine rules but were later released on bail.
